Hi Q, “While SkySail is a flight school for PPCs, and trying to be as unbiased as possible with info to our students...I just had to E-mail you after checking your manufacturers page. Reading down your listings, when I get to Blue Heron, it says little about these aircraft. I’m assuming it’s just because you haven’t seen one up close and personal. Before we started our company in 1998, we looked at a half dozen of the top PPC units with the goal of finding a reputable manufacturer that was accessable, a rugged airframe and an attitude of “quality over quantity & training over sales”. We’d never heard of the Blue Heron PPCs until someone here locally gave us a little ad they’d found. An 8 hr drive put us in Altamont NY at Nick and Marie Viscio’s home where the shop used to be. (They now own a 30’x130’ two story facility on a 2600’ runway, just a few miles away from their house.) We really had no idea what we were going to see as I’ve been flying fixed-wing Uls since 1988 and had seen a lot of “different” manufacturing operations. Some good and some just terrible. Well, I can honestly say I was very impressed. Here, we had all of the elements of a well designed manufacturing operation that had been kind of a secret, it seemed. Further “getting to know” visits and phone calls showed clearly that this company was growing exactly at the pace it wanted and not out of control as so many can find themselves. These folks will be here for a very long time. Their product is built cleverly with aircraft grade components throughout. The overall appearance and structural integrity is very classy and well done. If we had the option of any new PPC that we know of ...given to us free to use for training, the Blue Herons would be the one we’d use everytime. After all, our company is on the line every time we provide dual flight instruction! No kidding, take a look and I hope you get a chance to see one soon. They’ll be at Sun N Fun 2000 in booth “M” showing off one of the “Parahawks” used in the latest James Bond movie. Yea, I know...everybody and his brother has tried to sell their PPCs using the Bond movie somehow. There was only one design used...the Blue Heron. The UK stunt pilots will be there too I guess. If you’re down that way, stop in and say hello to Nick and Marie, and take a close look at a Blue Heron. You’ll not only discover America’s best kept PPC secret ...you’ll get a chance to meet the great folks behind it!” Dave Stinchfield- SkySail, Inc. www.skysailme.com
